Security is one of the most critical issues without which no society can achieve its desired perfection, namely development and progress. The city of Khorramshahr, due to its specific geographical, economic, social, and political characteristics, as well as its shared border with Iraq, has always been and continues to be a target of greed and the covetousness of enemies. The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors affecting the sustainable security of Khorramshahr and to provide appropriate strategies. The main research questions are: What are the factors influencing the establishment of sustainable security in Khorramshahr, and what are the appropriate strategies for it?
In terms of purpose, this research is applied; in terms of method, it is descriptive-analytical (survey-based). Data were collected using library methods, field studies, questionnaires, and interviews. In this study, the statistical population consisted of 300 individuals, selected through purposive and cluster sampling. The approximate sample size was 59 individuals who played a role in ensuring the sustainable security of Khorramshahr. Dimensions, components, indicators, and ultimately a conceptual model were extracted using this method. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts and specialists, and Cronbach's alpha was used to assess reliability. In this research, interviews were conducted with 10 security experts from the province and Khorramshahr city, and the findings are presented through interview statements and themes. Statistical tests and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze the data. In this study, the factors affecting the sustainable security of Khorramshahr were examined from the dimension of social and cultural security.
