Historical findings and documented experiences confirm that Imam Ali (AS), as the perfect exemplar of Islamic ethics in all conceivable domains, should serve as a model for the design and conduct of managers. His presence in numerous battles during his lifetime (both before and after his caliphate), along with his conduct and decisions in the influential role of commander, demonstrates a peak of moral maturity beyond human imagination. The theoretical foundation of this behavior is eloquently evident throughout Nahj al-Balagha in the words of Imam Ali (AS), and a more precise understanding of them requires deep contemplation and immersion in this valuable book. Therefore, this research seeks to extract the principles of defensive ethics based on Nahj al-Balagha. For this purpose, the main objective of the study was formulated as determining the principles of defensive ethics from the perspective of Imam Ali (AS), with a corresponding research question. The method used in this research is descriptive-analytical with a qualitative approach of an applied type. The results of the study, based on Nahj al-Balagha, indicate that from Imam Ali's (AS) perspective, some principles of defensive ethics include: trustworthiness, responsibility, discipline, supervision and follow-up, compassion, forbearance, justice, rejection of autocracy, and servitude.
