In September 2015, Russia officially returned to the Middle East as a major player in its military intervention in Syria. Russia is an influential player in many regional and sometimes international issues and crises, and on the other hand, due to its long-standing relations with Syria as well as its geopolitical position, it tries to maintain its level of influence in the Damascus political-security equation.With this in mind, the present study attempts to explain Russia's approaches to using the Syrian crisis. In fact, the main question is what are the opportunities for the Syrian crisis for Russia? The findings of the study show that Russia in the crisis in Syria seeks to: rebuild its international position, create a regional balance with the United States, change foreign and diplomatic policy, demonstrate military strength and practical fight against terrorism, alliance with Iran to play A more effective role in the Syrian crisis is to curb Turkish expansionism. This research has been done by descriptive-analytical method and the required data has been collected through library, documentary and electronic sources.
